  2. Sense the power of Christ’s death for their daily life.

Pens/pencils

GROUP GUIDELINES

This study has been designed for groups of 4-5 people. Choose as leader the person whose grandparents live closest. The leader is to keep the group moving through the Bible study and encourage everyone to participate. Participants always have the freedom to pass if they do not wish to share their responses.

BUILDING COMMUNITY

  1. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word peace?
  2. Share briefly an activity that you’ve participated in for a long time.
  3. What is one thing you hope to do in the spring or in the summer?

LOOKING AT GOD’S WORD

  1. There are times when we feel like we should act differently than we normally do. But God created each of us in a special way. Name one characteristic that you feel is the strongest about you?
  2. Read Romans 5:1-11.
  3. How do we gain access to God? (verses 1-2).
  4. In verse one, what does it mean to have peace with God?
  5. Hope is based on God’s _______________. (verse 5)
  6. What did Christ do for us according to verse 6?
  7. What are the similarities between verses 9 and 10?
  8. Why should we rejoice in God? (verse 11)

REINFORCING WHAT HAS BEEN LEARNED

  1. It is incredible to think of the ability an orchestra has, with its many different musical instruments, to play together and harmonize in beautiful sound. This is possible only if they are in right relationship with one another. It is in the same way with God, when we have peace with God and walk in relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. Given this fact, how do you see this peace with God impacting your life and the lives of others today?
  2. God demonstrates His love by sending His Son to die for us. In what ways does the Holy Spirit work in your life to respond to God’s love?
  3. Paul often talks about the three familiar themes, of faith, hope, and love. Which of these themes do you hear the clearest in this Bible study passage? Why?

CLOSING
