God’s Unending Faithfulness

In this four part study, we look at Old Testament stories where God showed His faithfulness, even in ways it wasn’t expected. Through this series we can see how God has proven His faithfulness in the past so that we can trust He will be faithful to us today.

The sessions include:

Session One: God’s Faithfulness in Waiting

After being sold into slavery, Joseph rises up in power in Egypt, only to be thrown in prison for a crime he did not commit. After 2 years of waiting, Joseph is able to use the gifts God has given him to help Egypt and rise to a place of authority again. While we wait for God’s promises in our lives, we trust in his timing, his plan, and the promise already fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

Session Two: God’s Faithfulness in Unexpected Ways

The Israelites defeat Jericho not through a battle, but by walking around the city. God’s promises always come true, but not always in the ways or means that we think they will. We trust that God’s ways are always better than what we could imagine.

Session Three: God’s Faithfulness in Doubting

Gideon asked God for many signs to prove that God really would accomplish what he said he would. In our times of doubting, God is patient with us and continues to be faithful to his people.

Session Four: God’s Faithfulness to Generations

The Lord first makes his covenant with Abraham – that he will be the Father of a great nation who will continue to serve God always. The covenant remains all throughout the people of God and is reestablished with David. The fulfillment of the covenant comes not just through David’s son Solomon, but ultimately through Jesus Christ. God is faithful to all those who believe in Jesus Christ – all generations before and all generations after.
