The Forgotten: How Forgotten Old Testament Characters ENDUREd

When you read Hebrews 11, you may hear some names or stories that you don’t recognize. There are stories and people who have been forgotten to time, but not to God. In looking at what we know about their stories, we can learn about how God has been faithful even in the lives of those who have long passed memory.

STUDY ONE: The Forgotten & The Unnamed

Objective: To understand and introduce the background of the concepts behind what we’ll learn from Hebrews 11 to set us up for three weeks of study of Hebrews 11 and set students up to individually dive deeper and dig into their own lives and personal application of the concepts we’ll and this chapter of God’s Holy Word.

STUDY TWO: Barak & Jephthah

Objective: Discover the stories of Barak and Jephthah and figure out why Paul included them in his list of the cloud of witnesses in Hebrews 11.

STUDY THREE: The Shortest Stories

Objective: To help youth to be reminded of their Baptism and the gift of faith they received. To help youth to understand that God is at work in them even if the story of faith is simple.

STUDY FOUR: The Salvation Story

Objective: Grasp the stories in Hebrews 11:33-38 in context. See that God uses even the unnamed in his salvation story.
