Servanthood
God is on a mission! That mission is to seek and save the lost and to bring all people into relationship with Him. We all have a part to play. This five part study is designed for you to use during servant event projects.
In this six part Bible study and devotion series, we will look at what the a servant heart looks like. Explore how God is and makes us willing, prayerful, compassionate, brave, broken, and hopeful servants. This study was originally designed for 2018 LCMS Servant Events being held over a week.
The Christian view of being “pro-life” is far more than just being anti-abortion or against euthanasia. Our “pro-life” attitude is really a reflection of our Life in Christ. This four-part study aims to give a top-down approach to our theology of life – from creation to the fall, to salvation, and onward and outward to our vocation and service to others.
In this study, teens will reflect on the importance of having a servant’s heart and living with humble devotion to God. This lesson is intended to be completed following participation in a servant event, as a review and preparation for future activities.
In this study, teens will consider what it means to serve, and why serving is an important component of our lives as Christians. Students will examine Scripture to discuss the meaning of serving others as though working for God. This lesson is intended to be completed prior to participation in a servant event, to prepare hearts and minds for work.
In order to lead in a God-pleasing way, it should come from a humble servant heart, just as Jesus modeled throughout His life.
These Bible Studies are designed for a five day servant event, but can be used for other events. In this Bible study series, we focus on characters in scripture that were called to echo the Gospel. Through these characters we are able to identify our own struggles and how God can empower us through the Holy Spirit to share the Good News of Jesus with others.
At the 2019 LCMS Youth Gathering, young people got a chance to serve by making Plarn. Plarn is yarn made from used plastic grocery bags that can be crocheted together to make mats for those who struggle with homelessness. Along with the instructions, there is a short devotion included that can work with any local servant event.
