What does being an “adult in the church” mean? As your confirmands head into high school and beyond, they are looking to see when they are going to be treated as adults. This article helps us to think about how we might raise expectations and encourage youth to being to take on adult roles in the church.

This four part Bible study series is meant to shed some light on young people in Scripture and how God worked through them or through their situation. As young people look to live out their vocation, these stories can point them to examples of God’s work through young leaders in the past.
During the 2021 National Lutheran Youth Workers Conference, we asked our YouthLead participants what they wanted the adult leaders in their Youth Ministry to know. These were some of their responses. We are so grateful for how God is working through amazing teens in our congregation.
Young leaders are going to witness (and even be drawn into) conflict in the church. This can be difficult to navigate, but with some mentoring, they will be able to weather disagreements and let God's light shine through.
