In this day and age it seems hard to find contentment. Social media has many of us comparing ourselves to others and finding ourselves lacking in one way or another. The Bible has much to say to us about contentment as well as where striving after the things of this world can lead. This study helps to talk to youth about their contentment in Christ.
The goal of this study is to talk about the resurrection of Christ and the wonderful joy that can be found in that. Eric Dunn uses Matthew to walk through the events that led up to Sunday, so we will also be looking at the events that led up to Jesus’ crucifixion. With that we can frame Easter for our teens in a way which reminds them of the power of Jesus' death and resurrection.
This four part Bible study series is meant to shed some light on young people in Scripture and how God worked through them or through their situation. As young people look to live out their vocation, these stories can point them to examples of God’s work through young leaders in the past.
This study is designed to be done as a standalone study, particularly on a Sunday when there may be a Baptism happening in worship. The hope is that such a study will encourage meaningful conversation about how young people can deeply understand their Baptismal Faith. Even though we will get many gifts in this life, no gift is greater or continual gift like the gifts we receive in Baptism.
