“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” (1 John 4:9 NIV)
I thought it would be interesting to hear what my students were wondering concerning the upcoming Youth Gathering. So, I asked them one question: “What do you want to know before we go to the Gathering?” I decided to share some of their responses with you. I thought maybe your youth might have some similar questions. I didn’t answer any of these as I thought this would be a good topic for our next informational meeting. Some of the questions are easy to answer and some of them will take some time to find the answers to! But in any case, I found it interesting to find out what my students wanted to know! So,here you go!
“WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW BEFORE WE GO TO THE GATHERING?”
-What are we going to do every day?
-Will this trip have the same format as our mission trips- such as family time at the end of the day?
-What will we be eating?
-I’ve never rode in a plane before, is it scary?
-Is it going to be an emotional experience?
-Are we going to be doing arts and crafts?
-What kinds of activities will we be doing in the Convention Center?
-What should we pack?
-How many people are going?
-How close is our hotel to the Convention Center and the Alamodome?
-How much money should I bring?
I would encourage you to find out what your kids are wondering about the Gathering. Are there any questions they have that you don’t know? Continue to utilize the Gathering website for answers to many questions. And if you still can’t find the answers feel free to join the NYG Adult Leader Facebook group  or shoot us an email at nygregistration@lcms.org.
Blessings to you as you travel the road to the Gathering!
