“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.” John 20:31

A few days ago we were able to have a celebration at our church! We were able to celebrate with our youth and adults all of the wonderful things God did at the National Youth Gathering.

It was neat to hear all of the stories the youth told about their experiences in New Orleans. Some of the highlights were spending “quality time” with each other as they traveled to and from NYG, the food, the French Quarter, and tours of a cemetery and Hurricane Katrina areas. Yes, there were some great times that really didn’t have anything to do with the NYG. But, there were so many other great times that were connected to the Gathering. Do you remember…

-The Convention Center and how big it was and how many awesome things there were to do inside of that massive building?

-The music that we praised the Lord with?

-Gathering News?

-Kellie Stocker and her daughter Mackenzie?

-Your story (I mean, God’s story)?

-The boomwhackers?

-The yellow shirts?

-The Mayor and his message?

-Holy Communion with 24,000 of your closest friends?

-Do you remember how the Spirit was present and impacted your lives?

-Do you remember how on fire for God you were?

I know you are like me, and you remember all of that plus much more! But, I want you to also remember what Jeff Meinz said in the closing message. The story never stops! Jesus has died and risen for us so that we may have eternal life! We don’t deserve it, but we have it! WE BELIEVE that He is the Christ and that by believing in Him, we will live forever with Him! My friends, that is our story, and we are sticking to it!

May God continue to bless you as we travel on the Road Back from the Gathering!
