Devotion: Pray!

I am one of those people who loves to talk. I love being with people and learning their stories and sharing mine. My parents say I’ve always been this way…even though everything that has come out of my mouth doesn’t always make sense. I process my thoughts out loud, too, and even my friends have trouble understanding what I’m trying to say at times.

How awesome is it that we have a God who encourages us to talk to him…about everything! What a blessing for people who like to talk like me as well as those who keep more to themselves.  He always listens, never interrupts, and never passes judgment–no matter how confusing and difficult our prayers seem. It is such a comfort that in any situation and at any time or place we can talk to and worship our amazing heavenly Father through prayer.

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (I Thess. 5:16-18)

Lord, thank you for the gift of prayer and allowing us to come to you. May we come to you in all circumstances in life, knowing that you are always there for us. We love you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
