The content of this book is best suited for those experiencing transition in their lives. Most often, with a graduation, comes a new chapter, whether moving on to a new school, beginning to work or another opportunity that may arise.
The theme passage comes from Isaiah 41:10 “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.” In the journey we take here on earth, God is with us. In this book will be the opportunity to explore the emotions that come with a new chapter of life. Whether excitement or fear, find out how God comes alongside to be your guide.
“You may be on your own, making your own decision, becoming more independent, making mistakes, and probably learning some things the hard way. Perhaps you have realized that you can’t ‘do life’ successfully on your own. Thank God, you don’t have to! His grace and power are at work when you depend on Jesus and trust in what he has done and has promised to do for you. After all, Jesus says,: ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV)” (p. 24)
A fellow ministry professional shared his take on this book and how it could best be utilized:
“Journey On…Never Alone would be a blessing for any high school graduate or young adult. The book is practical, encouraging and continually points to the saving grace of Jesus. Young adults can use this as a daily/weekly devotion or part of a group Bible Study. Parents and youth leaders, use this to pray for your young adults and help support them in this transition.” – Brandon Heath serves at Christ Lutheran Church in La Mesa, CA,
I pray that this book is a blessing to those who use it. I pray for the youth leaders that put it in the hands of their students, for the parents and relatives that gift it at graduation and for the students who are experiencing the celebrations and new avenues to pursue. The central message of this book is that God is with you, always, and His Word and guidance through the Holy Scripture will provide a foundation that will last a life time.
