“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. (1 John 4:9)
 Where Are You Staying?
This has been a question that I have been asked quite a bit in the last few weeks. By now, you should have received your National Youth Gathering confirmation letter along with your housing confirmation. This is such an exciting letter! It makes it official–you are going to the Gathering! Not so fast, though, as there are a few things that you should do before you start celebrating.
In your letter there is information on the Housing Process. Please review all information carefully. I would encourage you to pay close attention to dates–especially sending in your completed Housing Form to the Gathering Office by April 12. I would also encourage you to take advantage of “Express Registration by paying your balance before May 1.
Now that you know where you will be staying, start gathering information about the hotel and the surrounding community in which you will be staying. Visit the hotel’s website and familiarize yourself with their place. Begin to ask some questions so that you can formulate a plan for the time you are in San Antonio. What kind of amenities do they have? Do they offer a free breakfast? How far away from the Convention Center and the Alamo Dome are you? What are some of the restaurant options nearby? If you are at the airport, keep connected to the Gathering website for information on shuttling. You may also want to talk to other groups or youth leaders that you know to find out where they are staying. It is possible they are staying at your hotel or a near-by hotel. Sharing information is always beneficial and can help both groups.
Now is the time to gather as much information as you can! The more familiar you become with the area in which you will be, the more prepared you can be for our experience in San Antonio.
Blessings to you as you travel the road to the Gathering!
