But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” (Exodus 4:13)

Moses had his excuses for why God had picked the wrong guy to lead His people out of Egypt. He knew his personal limitations. He knew his checkered past. He had this long list of reasons why he was not the person to fulfill God’s plans. The only problem with Moses’ thought process is that He didn’t truly know God. You see, when God asked Moses to do something, Moses could have rested assured in the knowledge that God would empower Him to do it.

Now, think about your life. Where is God currently calling you and you keep telling Him, “no?” What are your excuses? What gifts and talents do you lack or what mars on your resume make you the wrong choice? Put all of that aside and turn your focus on the promises of Jesus. He said that He would be with us, even until the end of the age.

Imagine that. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords is right there beside you every step of the way, working in a powerful way. There is nothing too big for Him and nothing that will take Him by surprise. Jesus is right there and He never fails.

Remember, if God is asking you to do something then He will be there to see it through to the end. So, no more excuses. Be faithful to God’s calling and go boldly forward into the world in which you live.

For the times, God, that I have said “no” to You for whatever reason, I ask Your forgiveness. Strengthen me daily, Lord, and help me to trust You with all that I am, knowing that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Help me to clearly hear Your voice and to go forward with confidence. Amen.
