Revelation 7:17 “…He will lead them to springs of Living Water…”
Roy Sullivan was struck by lightning seven times. Being a park ranger, he had experienced many forms of danger– from bear attacks to forest fires. He feared lightning most of all. He took to carrying a can of water with him at all times “just in case” his hair caught fire. The odds of being struck by lightning are 1:700,000. Roy could have been nicknamed “the human lightning rod.” He certainly beat the odds.
What are the chances of getting pregnant as a teen? The answer can range from 1:20 if you engage in unprotected sex only one time, but, if you have intercourse regularly, the odds change to 1:4. You are not beating the odds. The odds are likely to beat you.
What if the pregnancy test reads a big plus sign? Lightning has struck, and it has a heartbeat. The pressure is on to make the “right” decision.
The world is saying, “Get rid of it. It’s not really a baby. It’s just a bunch of cells.”
You are praying, “Oh, God. This can’t be happening to me. What am I going to do? I can’t have this baby, but what choice do I have?”
Mr. Sullivan carried a can of water. He hoped it would be his saving grace. In truth the only saving grace in times of trouble is Living Water. Abortion is never an easy answer. Abortion is never a good answer. Abortion is never the right answer to this difficult situation. New life growing in the womb is not a bunch of cells. Don’t trust a rusty can full of water. Turn to Jesus for your answer. You do have a choice. Choose Living Water. Choose life.
YOUR PRAYER: Lord, I’m in trouble. Lightning has struck, and I am blinded. Open my eyes. Heal my spirit so that I can rely on you. Your Word says that You will never give me more than I can handle and that You will always provide a way out for me when the going gets rough. Show me the way I need to go. Give me the strength to choose life. Amen.
